Update a listing Add, correct or remove an optometrist listing
If you work at an optometry practice in Mpumalanga or the Lowveld, you can ask us to correct your details, add your practice, or remove it from the directory. Listings are compiled from public online sources and are marked as unconfirmed until we have spoken to the practice.
What happens next
- We phone the practice on the number already on file to confirm the change, and mark the listing as confirmed.
- Corrections and additions are published at the next update, usually within two weeks.
- Removal requests are honoured within 7 days. We keep a private note that you asked to be removed, so you are not added again by mistake.
What we publish, and why
The directory exists so that patients, and the reception staff who help them, can find an optometrist near them quickly. For each practice we list the practice name, the names of practising optometrists, the town and street address, the practice phone number, the website, the services the practice has told us about, and the date the details were last confirmed.
We do not publish personal email addresses, personal mobile numbers, HPCSA registration numbers or anything else that is not needed to find and phone a practice. Internal notes and contact details used to confirm listings are kept privately by Dr Dean van der Westhuizen Inc. and are not shared.
Inclusion is not an endorsement. No fee is paid or received for any listing. Every practice in the region is listed on the same terms, in alphabetical order.
Your privacy
Names of practising optometrists linked to a practice are business contact details, published in the legitimate interest of patients finding care. If you would rather not be listed, tell us and we will remove the entry. Requests and questions about personal information can be sent to info@doctordean.co.za or by phone on 013 497 2525.
